Well I would say they are trying to make it right. Maybe they did not plan to cheat. If you don't fix what's wrong at home, once the cheating start they will continue as a way out of home reality. It probably doesn't mean they neither love or want to be with the spouse they just have allowed a bad situation to get worse.(with the other person I mean). And LADIES sex is not the only way you cheat. The bible say if you keep looking at another as to have a desire you have already sinned. Some people don't like change, and I mean complete change. So don't think either because a person stay with the spouse they don't love the outsider. If the innocent party don't like the cheating they can also leave. But some people don't have the want to. SO IT IS WHAT IT IS!!!!! Trying to love two is hard but people try. And I said LOVE not INLOVE.
